Joseph Marconi is a writer and director whose debut feature film, Baby Love, premiered in 2026 at the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose, California. Baby Love won Best Picture and Best Performance at the 2026 Santa Monica Film Festival, and subsequently played the Phoenix Film Festival. Joseph is a multi-hyphenate creative from the Hudson Valley, New York. He began his career in advertising with BBDO and Showtime, shaping campaigns for global brands. His short film, Wild Animal, won Best Short Film and Best Made in Montana Film at the 2021 MINT Film Festival and served as a proof-of-concept for his feature film. Joseph is a 2021 Film Independent Fellow. He has spoken on using AI as a positive addition to the writing process. He was a guest lecturer at UCLA on directing actors. His work spans short films, music videos, and branded content. He also works with world-renowned commercial directors, including Hiro Murai, Alma Har’el, Derek Cianfrance, and Crystal Moselle. He’s worked with production companies such as Anonymous Content, Somesuch, and Iconoclast for clients like Nike, Toyota, Ford, and more. Joseph is currently in development on three original projects. He is the founder of his production company, Upperstate. Joseph is represented by Justin Corporan-Browning and Drew Shenfield at Mosaic.
